Name: Bio-booster artificially-controlled parasite-armor, unit 01. Definition: The Guyver armour is a combination of a very unusual parasite and an incredibly advanced biotechnology. The parasite is, initally, an incredibly dangerous carnivore, able to digest a man-sized victim within less than a minute. The late dr. Yamamura believed that it used to infest the digestive systems of some huge alien creatures, perhaps even the living ships the Creators used. Nontheless, the parasite also possesses some rather interesting abilities, especially the ability to increase the host's physical traits a hundred fold, as well as giving him increased regeneration (The second is possibly due to the rather strong stomach acids the parasite's original host possessed. It would also explain why the Chronos Enzyme prototypes were as useful as they were.). The armour also enables the host to use several additional abilities, like partial gravity control, the sonic weapon, the sonic blades and the energy weapons, the head-mounted laser and the "megasmasher" energy cannon(Again these were probably used in order to survive in the organism of the original host and move through it).It is worth noting that it is possible to remove or destroy the control medalion, turning the armour on the host, but, in such a case, the host would nontheless regenerate, should the medalion remain and should any of the parasite's material remain on it's surface. Should the host be devoured and no other possible food remain in the vicinity of the parasite, it shall dissolve, although the later is possibly due to the effect of earth's atmosphere on it's body, now unprotected by the biotechnology. 'Hmm... Quite fascinating. I wonder if the pilots know what exactly they give home to?" Status: Inactive as of the end of the Chronos War, when it has been removed from it's first host, Fukamachi Sho, as one of the results of the battle between Units 01, 03 and their allies against the Zoalord Arkenfel. 'What? Fukamachi was the host for unit 01? In the times of the Chronos War?' Attempts to reactivate the unit, which was obviously damaged during the battle, have only brought the deaths of potential hosts, including Ikari Yui. 'Ikari's wife? I knew she died during some freak EVA activation experiment in Gherkin but...' After the last attempt, dated 8 March 2009, the unit went into an even deeper state of damage, demolishing a large part of the laboratory it was being kept in and killing the scientists present during the experiment, including the geneticist Yamamura. Despite being host to prototype artificial Guyver armor, dr. Yamamura was unable to withstand the released power of unit 01 and fell victim to it. The further damage done to the unit may be the result of attempting to link it with one of the prototype subjects of the Instinctual Control Program. The resulting mix of biomaterial was probably the reason of the devastation of the Artificial Laboratory #5, where it was being held at the time. End of data available to given clearance. Further information marked Bahamuth clearance. LOG OFF Logging off complete 'Well now... That was certainly interesting. And rather useful.' The Observer muttered as the terminal closed. 'So that's where the unit awaited its new host...' Psychopathic Delusions put on Paper presents An NGE/Guyver elsewords fusion by Eshin eshin@friko5.onet.pl eshin@dragonmount.com Neon Genesis Evangelion: Legacy of the Creators "Welcome, Ikari Shinji! Welcome to the Artificial Development Laboratory, Guyver Research Area." Ritsuko declared. "Go on in... It should be waiting for you. I suppose Makashima explained to you what you should do..." He nodded grimly, than entered, the armoured door shutting before him. For a few moments, all he could see was coolant vapours coming from the nearby ventilation shafts. He took a few hesitant steps forward, and than he saw it. The control medallion was hanging in the air, with pieces of some metallic substance located all around it. The strange grey ooze from which the parasite was formed was hanging all around it, like huge tendrils, spread between the laboratory's walls, going around the various computers and testing equipment, slipping through the ribs and bones of the bodies lying on the floor in several places. The whole thing was pulsating, as if it had a beating heart... He was almost ready to believe it recognised him and beckoned him closer... "So... It's you! Mother... You've already taken my mother away from me! So now you want me as well?" He shook his head angrily. "Very well..." He took a step forward, his arms spread wide. "I'M HERE!" Another step. "TAKE ME!!!!" As if on command, the pulsating mass lunched itself a him, the grey tendrils surrounding his body, melting against it, than through it. He trashed around the lab, smashing the equipment all around him as every pore in his body was being defiled by the substance. He fell to his knees as he felt it reach his neural systems... His hand rose once again, throwing a computer monitor from one of the desks, and than fell to the ground... Several silent minutes passed. Finally, a pale blue shape stirred on the floor. It slowly rose, it's red crystalline eyes shining menacingly. The unit slowly walked towards the door, it's sensors detecting a potential enemy... no... a potential target... on the other side. A hissing sound was heard as the armblades sprung from their places... Akagi Ritsuko had almost given up hope after all the waiting. 'It appears we were wrong. Just another victim to the parasite. The Commander will probably be disappointed...' Her thoughts were suddenly disturbed by the sound of reinforced steel being cut like paper, a sound one would certainly find fascinating as long as one wasn't the person protected by said reinforced steel. What remained of the door was ripped apart as a large, blue shape stepped out of the lab, it's armblades shining in the dim light the corridor lamps provided. 'No! It's a berserker!!! We've only summoned forth our own deaths...' Ritsuko thought, as she took a few steps back, horrified. The armour, however, stopped. "Dr. Akagi... What now?" Shinji Ikari asked, now fully in control of the unit. Episode 2 To combat one's hatred. 16.20 Entry Hallway to upper EVA Cage 01-F "So... you understand what you have to do,Shinji?" Ritsuko asked. "Enter the Entry Plug. Wait until it fills with the...LCL, wasn't it? Wait until it feels with it and than..." "I know it sounds a little abstract, but you should send out a mental call for the EVA. Ask it to join with you." "Very well. I'll try, at least..." "Just do it. One more thing, though: you should know that it is possible to mentally order any part of the armour to partially dematerialise. It will be kept in a subspace pocket, ready to reappear on your call. And I'd advise you to recall the helmet- it might be too cumbersome in the limited space of the Entry Plug." "Whatever..." Shinji muttered as he concentrated on recalling the armour. After a minute, the plates forming the helmet disappeared, leaving only a small metal circle embedded in his forehead. He touched it, surprised. "The control medallion must remain, in order to prevent the armour from going rogue. However, exposure to LCL should turn it into a more comfortable crystalline form." Ritsuko said, smiling. "You may also have some problems with speaking, since LCL is, after all, a liquid. However, it increases the basic psychical powers of the Unit, allowing you to communicate with us, either telephatically or telekinetically, by forcing the air near one of the speakers to send through sounds. It may of course require a little practice." He nodded. "I see." 'I certainly do! So how do I know my personal opinions won't be transmitted as well? Damn! This _is_ rather irritating!' "All right than! Get in there!" "Uhh... Dr. Akagi... If I can make the armour to partially dematerialise, can I make some part of my normal clothing appear outside?" "I... I suppose so..." She answered hesitantly. "Why do you ask?" In reply, he closed his eyes for a moment and, on the collar of the armour, the silver thunderbolt pin appeared. "For luck." He explained, grinning slightly. 16.25 Tokyo-3, right above the Geofront. "Stay sharp! We don't know how powerful this thing is, but we know it won't be such an easy task as these Enzyme-5 training opponents!" Sub-commander Fukamamachi's voice sounded through the comm units connected to the armours worn by the Land Dragons. The members of the group, standing in pairs by the entry channels at several different points of the city nodded as one. "Good! One to Five, go by air and use your megasmashers on him. Six to nine and Eleven to Fourteen, try to use your fields to neutralise his ATF. Ten, you try to distract him, but be careful. Fifteen, you'll remain as reinforcement and close cover to the EVA. According to the Commander, it should be out within forty minutes. If you can hold it till than, you get a bonus. If you can destroy it, the EVA budget goes to you. Any questions?" "Yes!" Number Two, Arisugawa Sorata, replied. "How big is the EVA budget?" "About as high as the sum of all of the Europe's countries yearly national income, Sorata." Replied Sho with barely restrained laughter. "All right than! Once this is finished, I'm taking you all out to get a couple of beers! What do you think about it, Arashi-chan?" "I think that I'll cut off your arm if you ever call me Arashi-chan again, Sorata!" The woman replied, irritated. "Two, Five, enough! Get the Angel, you'll argue later!" Fukamachi's voice interrupted. "Stop wasting time. Go!" Number 4, Seichiro Sakurazaka declared. 16.28 EVA Cage 01-F Shinji eyed the entry plug nervously as he slowly walked towards the hatch. "How can this thing allow me to control _that_?" He asked noone in particular. Of course, Ritsuko decided he was asking her. "The entry plug enters the so called "biosphere". It's something like the control room the Creators designed for their spaceships. It allows you to obtain perfect synchronisation with the unit, or at least with the control medallion on the unit." "Control medallion? I didn't see anything like that on the armour..." "You couldn't. In the case of these Units, the medallion is contained deep within the body of the EVA. That way, the unit is at least partially protected from the obvious attack way. Although, since the units differ from humans, and are partially created from Guyver material themselves, we don't really know what would happen should the medallion become destroyed." "In other words..." Shinji said grimly, as he opened the hatch and started to enter it. "You're sending me into battle in something that you don't know anything about against a foe you don't know anything about, hoping that the whole damn thing won't simply explode and destroy the whole area, aren't you?!" He summarised bitterly, as he closed the hatch. "Oh, we know far more than you'd like to hear, young boy... Far more!" Ritsuko whispered to herself. "Insert the entry plug!" She ordered than stood watching as the white cylinder slowly started to enter the mechanised port on the unit's neck, until the whole thing was in and the port was closed by a special barrier. The plug continued further down, into the red organically interior, until it reached the spherical chamber that formed the control area, stopping only when the tip of the cylinder hit a large red lens on the floor of the chamber. Several tentacle-like connectors shot from the floor, entering the insertion holes by the entry plug's bottom, while similar tentacles joined with the plug from the top of the chamber, fully connecting the whole system. 16.35 NERV Main Bridge "Plug on position... connected!" One of the bridge crew, a young woman named Ibuki Maya declared. "Unit status?" Ritsuko asked. "It's connecting! It's actually taking it into itself!" Another aide, a short-haired man, Hyuga Makoto replied. "Enter phase two! Send the A-8 Impulse!" 16.36 Inside EVANGELION UNIT-01 Shinji blinked in surprise as some orange liquid started to fill the entry plug through several holes in the bottom of the capsule. 'Isn't this the same stuff we've swam across before?' He wondered briefly. 'LCL? Is that it?' "Yes, and yes." Misato's voice brought him back to reality. 'Damn! I've forgotten they can hear what I think.' "Not all of it, and if you practice a little, you'll be able to consciously command what you want us to hear and what not." Came the reply. 'Whatever.' 'And I hope you've heard that too!' 16.37 NERV Main Bridge 'Heard what?' Misato asked herself as Shinji's message came through the communicator. She still wondered how that Yamamura man had managed to create a device that transmitted telepathic messages. "Unit-01 fully synchronising with the plug... We have a clean flow!" The last member of the bridge crew, Shigeru Aoba, informed. "Good. How are the energy signatures?" Ritsuko asked. "Inactive. Wait! The flowing LCL is slowly spreading... Inner system energy levels now at 10%! 20%! 25% and growing!!!" Maya replied. "Connect circuits! Hyuga, activate the Umbilical Cable! Maya, the power should be enough to connect with the A10 core!" "Yes!" "Yes, Senpai!" Within moments, the eyes of the Unit-01 started to shine as the whole Evangelion came to life. "Harmonisation beginning. Pilot synchronisation observed! 2%... 10%! It's passed the connection barrier! Growing! 30! 37! 43,1% Synch Ratio! No anomalies detected!" Maya declared, clearly amazed. "Unbelievable! We may actually make it!" Ritsuko whispered. 'We will... I trust that kid.' Misato thought. 16.40 In EVA-01 Inside the entry plug, the dark display screen filling most of the inner wall finally came to life, first going through a fascinating myriad of colours, than showing the inside of the EVA cage, as seen through the EVA's eyes. 'Wow! The whole thing actually works!' Shinji thought. "Correct, Shinji. Are you accustomed with the LCL now?" 'It's... Strange... Warm... I feel like it's filling every cell of my body...' "In a way, it is. It's been mixing with your blood, oxygenating it directly. Everything else is probably the effect of the Guyver connection. You have to get accustomed to that." 'I'll try... What now?' "For now, you just wait. Try to get accustomed with the controls, although you'll be doing most of it by though, once it is time. It'll still be about fifteen minutes before we can send you out. This is the first trial of this unit for a very long time, after all." 'In other words, it can still blow up in our faces. In my face, especially...' "Not funny, Shinji." 'Sorry, Misato-san.' 16.42 NERV Main Bridge "Evangelion Unit One, ready for combat!" Captain Katsuragi declared. "First block removed!" The MAGI's synthetic voice declared. "Entry bridge disconnected!" "Restraints Nr.1 & Nr.2 removed!" "Inner accumulators powering complete. Umbilical Cable connected, power flowing!" "EVANGELION 01 moving to gate 5!" Maya reported. "Gate Nr.5 at ready!" The MAGI resumed. "Track clear! Status "GREEN"!" "Start preparations finished!" "EVANGELION UNIT 01 ready for deployment!" "Affirmative." Misato replied, turning towards the high bridge, where the elder Ikari and sub-commander Fuyutsuki sat. "Commander Ikari... Are we ready?" "Of course." Replied the commander, his mouth hidden by his hands, as they connected at the base of his nose. "If we don't destroy the Angel, there is no tomorrow for us!" "Evangelion Unit 01, start!" Misato ordered immediately. The high-speed elevator on which the unit stood shoot up, and Shinji cringed, even with the Guyver armour protecting him from most of the huge pressure caused by the move. 16.55 Tokyo-3, right above the Geofront "Damn!" Arisugawa sweared. And it had seemed so easy... They took their positions as required, bah, they were even able to neutralise the Angel's AT-Field. After that, however, it was pure hell. Their M-Smashers were like little stings to the Angel. It's energy lances kept them from massing enough of them to do some serious damage, and what damage they could do was quickly regenerated by the creature. And now, thanks to one of the last lance attacks, Sorata was missing a leg. "Damn it!" He muttered again, as he hid behind one of the nearby buildings, hoping to give the appendage some time to regenerate. The pain was excruciating, but their training had prepared them for it. "Eleven here, I've got him from behind, aiming at the hea...." The rest of the speech was silenced by another energy lance. "FUMA!!!" Kamui, Number One and the leader of the Dragons, shouted looking at the melted ruins of the building on which his friend stood just moments before. "He's alive. Our sensors indicate that at least his head remains intact." Sub-commander Fukamachi interrupted. "Two, get what's left of Monou and get to one of the shelters! All else, keep it busy for just a few more minutes! The EVA is on position and will be launched within moments!" "Easy for you to say!" Muttered Kakyou, Number Twelve. "You haven't just seen your friend get blasted to hell!" "Not now, Kakyou! I want you all to find a way to pay back this bastard!" Kamui ordered. "Sonic blasters. Everyone get some good shooting position and blast the ground just under it's feet! Make it kneel." Sakurazaka replied. "You heard him. Go!" One shouted as he sprung for a better shooting position. The other Dragons followed his lead, avoiding the Angel's lances at the same time. "All right..." Kamui muttered as everyone found a good spot. Since they were aiming at the ground under the Angel, not at one specific point on it's body, they could afford the luxury of a very loosely spread formation, which in turn protected them from it's attacks, or, at least, gave them room to evade. "Give him hell!" Within seconds, the concrete below the Angel began to break, a large funnel forming beneath the creature. It shook slightly, unable to maintain balance. "All right, we're getting him!" Kamui shouted, smiling in triumph... That is, smiling until the creature rose above the ground and flew through the city, getting far from the crater and, along the way, out of the attack area of most of the Guyvers. These still able to attack him tried to intercept his flight with their sonic beams, but only managed to damage a few buildings along the way. "Damn it! Regroup and try again, this time, half of you aim directly at it!" "Negative, One!" Fukamachi's voice interrupted. "Regroup and retreat to the exit trenches, the EVA is deploying in 10!" "Damn! We can take it!" The leader of the Dragons protested. "You'll get the next one. Retreat, now." "Damn it..." Kamui muttered again as he and his team split and ran towards the escape hatches. 16.59 Inside Evangelion Deployment Hatch T-3/5B "You'll arrive on the surface within... five hundred meters of the Angel. We hope that the synchronisation level you have reached will allow you to control the EVA well." Misato instructed "I see. What are the enemy's abilities?" Shinji thought, finally getting the hang of the telepathic communications. "And what weapons do I have?" "As far as we've seen, it can project energy blasts and has some sort of energy lances, as well as moderate gravity control. As for your weapons, for now you have to content yourself with hand to hand." "Although..." Ritsuko interrupted. "There is a slight possibility that during the battle, you will be able to convert some of the EVA's traits to fit the armour. Try summoning the armblades, when you get into combat." "And one more thing..." Misato added. "Try to avoid letting it sever the cable connected to the Unit's back. That's the thing that provides the EVA it's energy." 'Wonderful! A walking time bomb on batteries.' Shinji thought, careful to avoid sending that thought outwards. 17.00 Tokyo-3, right above the Geofront One of the many deployment hatches opened on one of the streets. Through it, the purple giant, Evangelion Unit-01, emerged. "Good luck, Shinji-kun. We'll disconnect the final supporters now. When they're gone, try to concentrate on moving the EVA." Misato's voice sounded through the speakers. 'Yes.' As he heard the huge metal slabs leave the arms of his unit and retract into the ground, Shinji imagined the unit moving, step after step... 17.02 NERV Main Bridge "He's moving!" Ritsuko's amazed exclamation broke the silence. "He's actually moving!" Misato smiled. 'This kid'll do well. I know it!' A few meters behind her, the father of that very kid smiled as well. 'Give him strength, Yui... And soon, we will be together again!' The two smiles were broken as the Unit charged the angel head on... 17.03 Tokyo-3, right above the Geofront 'Damn you, father! How do you expect me to fight in this thing?' Shinji thought as he ordered the EVA to run towards the angel. 'Let's see how this thing flies...' He wondered as, just a few meters from the Angel, the unit jumped into the air. 'What did Agito-sama say? Gravity control? If the Guyver can do it, maybe the EVA can as well...' With that, he tried to make the EVA control it's flight... With rather poor effects. "Shinji, what are you doing?" Misato's irritated voice came through the speakers as the Unit tried to dig itself out of the rubble of the building it had landed on. Or rather- in... The Angel, however, had other plans. It extended one of its upper limbs and aimed it at the boy. With a sickening crunch, chest armour caved in as the energy lance skewered the unit. Shinji's howl of pain sounded through the communications channel. "Shinji! Relax! It's not your body!" Misato tried to calm the pilot. 'Then why the hell do I have a hole in my chest right now?!' He barked back, trying to hold back the bleeding with his hand. 'Damn it! How can this happen?!' "It appears that the Guyver unit you use is synchronised so well with the EVA that it actually transmits all sensory messages to you directly... Including damage. Don't worry, you'll regenerate soon." Ritsuko's calm, somewhat cold voice brought him back to reality. 'If I don't die before that!' He thought. 'Better for it to go first!' He kicked the Angel just as another lance of energy hit the Unit, this time breaking through the head armour and taking out one eye. Shinji's mental scream of pain brought half of the Bridge crew to their knees. 'Enough!' He raged, as he managed to fight back the initial shock and bring the pain under some control. His good eye looked towards the Angel, which was now slowly getting up from the building Unit-01's kick had send it into. 'Enough, damn it! I'll cut you to shreds! I'll rip you appa...' The tirade was interrupted as another beam of pure power broke through the EVA's armour. Surprisingly, this time there was no scream of pain... 17.15 NERV Main Bridge "Abnormal readings from the elbow area, both hands!" Makoto announced. "Increased biological growth! The armour is breaking apart!" "It's evolving!" Ritsuko muttered under her nose. "The calculations were correct after all!" On the monitor, large hunks of the armour protecting the unit's arms fell off, ripping great holes in the surface of the road they hit, as two glistening blades, each quietly vibrating, appeared on the EVA's arms. 17.16 Tokyo-3, right above the Geofront The Angel raised his arm again, planning to fire another energy lance, but, before he managed it, the EVA was right upon it, it's newly acquired armblades slicing through it's enemy's appendages, it's horned head hitting the monster's own, time after time. Waves of mental pain flew through the area, as the remains of the Angel's hands fell to the ground as large bloody chunks of flesh. The EVA howled in satisfaction as it's maw bit into the Angel's shoulder. It tore off a piece of flesh, than grabbed the creature and threw it into another of the nearby buildings. Episode 2 The Madness of EVA. 17.18 NERV Main Bridge "Shinji, that's enough! Just destroy it now, without any more property damage!" Misato shouted into the microphone. She was answered by silence. "Pilot nerve signals disoriented! Mental activity: deep theta state!" One of the crew reported. Ritsuko paled slightly. "Berserker!" She whispered. She observed the EVA's rampage for a few more seconds, than turned to Gendo. "You have to talk to him! Only your voice can bring him out of the stupor!" 17.19 Tokyo-3, right above the Geofront The Evangelion, it's wounds now fully regenerated, slowly walked towards what remained of the Angel. It detected an enemy, and all enemies must be destroyed, before it continue it's standard functions. That the enemy seemed to sending out the signals of the Holy Ones, was of no importance. It was recognised an enemy, by both the Unit and the host, all side factors were thus irrelevant. The Unit's 'mind' contemplated for a moment the difference of functions and the apparent lack of advanced weaponry in comparison to the design schematics, but than assumed it to be a fault caused by damaged memory banks. For now, the Unit had other targets... Also... The additional 'mind', the one that seemed to be added some time after the awakening, kept signalling that the protection of the host was the highest priority. And protecting the host meant destroying the enemy. The Angel slowly rose, it's battered body barely functioning... It felt that it should escape now, get to some safe area and regenerate... 'NO!!!' The power of the mental command was almost enough to send the Angel back to the ground. 'SACHIEL! THAT IS NOT YOUR TARGET! DESTROY! IF YOU CANNOT DESTROY WHAT IS YOUR TARGET, BE DESTROYED YOURSELF! AND TAKE THE BETRAYER-ADAM WITH YOU!' The Angel's eyes flashed. It could not refuse, could not even imagine refusing the order. Before the EVA could react, the monster threw itself at it, while causing it's own powercrystal to explode, just as what remained of the Angel's body surrounded the EVA. 17.25 NERV Main Bridge "No!" Misato shouted as the explosion filled all the screens on the bridge. "What is the EVA's status? And what of the pilot?" "Uncertain. Our scanners can't get through with all this smoke and fire! And as for the pilot..." Makoto shook his head in wonder. "A while ago, I've gotten this strange print on my screen... It's still up if it's of any help..." Meanwhile, the smoke slowly began to clear, and soon these gathered at the bridge could witness a dark, threatening shape slowly make it's way through the flames... 17.30 Tokyo-3, right above the Geofront The Unit scanned through the fire raging around it. It had already added a special ingredient to the regenerating armour, which made it completely resistant to any heat, these flames could provide. The pilot was safe now, so the 'new mind' seemed to be dormant as well, but the 'main' operational organ of the Unit understood that now it had yet another mission. The mental call it had felt but a moment before the destruction of the enemy, now classified as SACHIEL, had assured it of it... The EVA felt it's target was close, somewhere below it... Target identified as ADAM.... But... The Unit's 'mind', for the second time in it's existence, became unsure. Data suggested that the Unit itself was 'ADAM'... Was the target the Unit itself? But how could it be somewhere below itself, if it was here... Attack! It would find this impostor ADAM and destroy it! The Unit's 'mind' was not designed to have doubts. 17.40 NERV Main Bridge "What is it doing?" Maya muttered as the unit started to claw through the ground, digging down... "Commander! You have to do it! Only you have the chance to break through the IC!" Ritsuko pressed. The elder Ikari seemed to consider this for a few more moments. "Very well... Get me a direct connection to the pilot." 17.42 In EVA-01 "Shinji! Do you hear me? Snap out of it and take control of the EVA. Don't escape into unconsciousness. Don't run away as usual!" 'Who is this man? The voice seems familiar... What does it mean anyway? I am safe now... I can rest... I can find peace...' "Shinji! Snap out of it! Listen to me! You can't just run away like when your mother died!" The Unit started to dig faster, already clawing through the first armour layer... It felt that the voice might try to disturb it's mission... It felt that the voice came from below... 'Mother... Who is this? He knows of mother... He knows of me... Only Uncle knew of mother... But he is far away now... I can't be with him... So why should I be at all... No... it's not uncle... It's father... Father! How can he?! How dare he break my peace once again! I have almost forgotten now, in this warm embrace! But you have to bring me back, eh father! NO! You've already taken mother away from me! Don't take myself away from me too! Mother!' "Shinji! Shinji!" Second armour layer. The two armblades cut through reinforced steel as if it was butter. 'White walls... Lots of black lines... Cables... Mother... Warm as always... But different... Father... He is smiling... I like father... He is so tall and strong... I want to be like him when I grow up! Mother is taking me away from her... She is entering something... Some big white lollipop-like thing... Now it's disappearing... Where did you go mommy? Oh! The wall has disappeared! What is that? It's so big... It's scary, but daddy's here, he'll protect me! I look at the purple thing and I know mamma's here... But can daddy protect us both? Daddy's friend is saying something... As is that woman... I don't like her... She's bad, I know it... What is that red light? Daddy? Where are you going? Why are you screaming? Daddy? The purple thing... It's looking at me! And mommy isn't there anymore! Daddy! Save mommy! Save me! Daddy! It's looking at me! No! Save me, daddy! I have to get away from it! Daddy! I have to run away! Daddy! Daddy! Father! Father! Let me go, father! Let me run away! You won't let me run away! I've escaped to uncle Agito, but you won't let me run away! You have to bring me back! I know I mustn't run away! Only bad boys run away daddy! But why, father?! Why do I have to run away? Why do you bring me back? Why can't I just leave? Father! Daddy! Answer me! Father!!!' 18.04 NERV Main Bridge "It's hopeless." Gendo muttered, shutting off the intercom. "He keeps running away... Captain Katsuragi, get communications to patch me through to the Third Branch Commander! 18.05 NERV Second Branch, Commander's Office "Yes... I've been watching everything... I believe I know how to handle this... Otherwise, however, he did quite well, didn't he?" 18.06 In Eva-01 Eight layer. 'Father! Answer me! Why can't I just disappear?!' "Shinji-kun." 'A known voice... Nice... But commanding... Even so... Delicate... Warm... Safe...' "Shinji-kun, please, answer me." 'A... Agito-sama? Uncle Agito? Why won't you let me disappear? Do you need me, uncle?' "Please, Shinji-kun... Return to your senses... It's time for you to wake up... There is a message waiting for you, from me. We need you to wake up, Shinji-kun. I need your help." 'Uncle? Uncle Agito? Hold on! I'm coming!!!' The EVA suddenly stopped in it's tracks, it's pilot finally regaining command. 'Uncle Agito? Where are you?' Shinji, now fully awake, asked mentally. 'And where am I? Why am I in this hole?' He wondered, just as the nervous feedback of all that happened from the time he lost consciousness, including his chest being pierced by yet another energy lance and most of his skin getting burned in a huge fireball, hit him. Sufficient to say, his nervous system couldn't withstand it and darkness took him once again... However, with no enemies detectable nearby, the Unit remained inactive this time. 18.10 NERV Main Bridge "Yes, he's all right, he's blacked out again, but the unit remained inactive this time." Gendo answered his speaker. "I'll expect to see you in the evening, for our celebration." Meanwhile, among the crew, the mood was clearly ecstatic. "We did it!" Misato shouted as she hugged a rather irritated Ritsuko. "The Angel is down and the EVA is under our control again! What was it that happened there, anyway?" "Oh, that..." Ritsuko muttered, throwing the Captain's arms off her shoulders. "We call it 'Berserker'. It's a situation when the pilot looses consciousness and the unit's self-defence mechanisms take control... It's an extremely rare phenomenon, we've only seen it three or four times so far, but it is rather amazing." "Um, sorry to interrupt you, doctor, but I've felt I should report that I'm receiving data from the pilot. He's suffered from post-traumatic shock, but, aside from that, he's all right." "That's good! Send a recovery team now, will you?" Misato replied. "Say, Ritsuko... Why didn't we just disconnect the Umbilical Cable? That would've stopped the Unit..." "Theoretically yes... But only after it had used up _all_ of the biological energy from the pilot and itself... When the 'Berserker' is loose, it acts as if it was the only way for survival, so it wouldn't hesitate from destroying both it's pilot and it's body, if it believed it would help it to survive... Quite ironic, actually." 23.15 NERV, Commander Ikari's office "Ah, Fukamachi, you're here. Has Agito called yet?" Gendo asked, as he filled the glasses standing on his desk with champagne. "No. The boy did well, didn't he?" "Yes. Surprisingly well to say the truth, although I doubt that anyone had expected a Berserker..." Fuyutsuki answered. "And how are your men doing?" He asked after a moment. "They've come to. They had to restrain Monou after he regenerated, the IC terminals in our custom units aren't to good after all, but, other than that, they're rather happy. Especially after they got their bonus." "Ah, that." Gendo muttered. "You do know how this is going to strain the budget?" "Stuff it. They deserved it. And it's still less than the costs of repairing the property damage the EVA caused." "Boys, now stop that." Kozo intervened, breaking apart the two bickering commanders. "You two really should stop acting like children if we are supposed to win this..." "Sir, Commander Makashima of Third branch is on holo-transmiter connection..." The secretaries voice from the intercom interrupted. Gendo quickly pressed the answer button. "Patch him through, as soon as possible." The reply of "Yes, sir." was quickly silenced by the three-dimensional figure of Agito Makashima appearing on the office floor. "Ah, good evening, gentlemen. At least I suppose it's evening at your place..." He welcomed them. As the image stabilized, they could see that he was in his casual clothes and was holding a champagne glass in his hand. At that sight, Gendo passed the champagne to all the others as well. "Correct." He replied, than rose his glass into the air. "Gentlemen, I propose a toast in the consequence of today's events. To the destruction of the Creators and their... legitimate... children!" Agito smiled and rose his glass as well. "To the pilot of Unit-01, our finest warrior in that battle, Shinji Ikari!" Sho rose his glass to, muttering something about Rei being the finest pilot in the process. "To the fall of our greatest opponents. To the destruction of SEELE!" At that toast, all four cheered and chanted as one. "To the destruction of SEELE!" Kozo's smile dimmed a little. 'It's a good thing I've removed all security cameras in this place, or we'd be dead within ten seconds of this toast. But, even so... Children are children, and do childish things...' Out laud, he said: "While I appreciate the occasion, I'm the one who has to prepare the statement for the Humanity Committee, so I'll excuse myself now." With that, he finished his champagne and left. "He's a sorry party-goer." Gendo muttered under his nose. "Still, it's always been like that..." "Say, Ikari?" Agito asked after a while. "Yes?" "I've sent a package to your son. Can you make sure it reaches him as soon as he regains consciousness?" "I'll take care of that." Fukamachi interrupted. "Rei is supposed to watch over him anyway, so I'll have her give it to him." Agito merely nodded, rather surprised by the offer. 'Well, well, are we out of the war-zone now?' 16 June 2015 9.00 NERV Hospital, room 5 Shinji Ikari slowly opened his eyes, his mind still going through the events of the previous night. 'Unfamiliar ceiling. Still, I'm rather accustomed to that... Agito-sama... What happened after you've talked to me? I remember being in the EVA, and than... My eye...' He rose his hand slowly, and reached for his face, checking for any damage signs. "It's regenerated." An emotionless voice informed him. He rose his head to search for it's source and was rather surprised to see the blue-hairdo girl that accompanied Fukamachi 'No... Sub-Commander Fukamachi' last... 'Last when? It's morning, so I've been here at least for ten hours, but... Maybe it's been a lot more than that?' "How long have I been in here?" He asked. "You have been taken out of the entry plug at 18.15 last night. It is now 9.05, 16 June 2015." "Oh... Why are you here? Not that I mind!" He added a little nervously after a moment's thought. 'Damn! Aunt Shuzo's teachings really won't suffice for actual human contact... All the members of the Thunderbolt were like family to me, so I really hadn't... Oh, she's talking to me!' "..machi suggested that I should thank you for fighting the Angel in my place, therefore I've been waiting for you to wake up." With that she stood up and made a very formal bow. "Ikari Shinji, I thank you greatly." The gesture didn't look insincere, but it seemed to be a little rough, as if it was the first time she had done it. "Don't mention it..." He muttered, embarrassed. "How are your wounds?" "They are slowly regenerating. I should be back to optimum efficiency within a week." 'Regenerating?' He thought. 'Now that's a weird way to put it... Than again, she did use the same expression about my eye...' He slowly moved his finger against the eye's base. 'I really wonder what did happen in the EVA...' "There is one more thing, Ikari Shinji. Commander Fukamachi had asked me to deliver this to you." With that, she handed him a small black case. "Uhh... Thanks..." He muttered, than slowly opened the package. Inside was a letter and a very small box, one of the type used to carry jewellery in. He took the letter first and started to read. "Shinji, I deeply regret that I had not yet the chance see how you did in battle, but, if I hope to get this message delivered to you by the combat's end, I have to send it now. I made sure that you'd only receive it if you were successful, and, beyond that, I doubt that you'd still be alive were it otherwise. And, beyond everything else, I trust that you will be successful. I know you to well to believe otherwise. As it is, I congratulate you. You did really well, my boy. I trust that you do no worse in the future. That's all for now, I'll try to call you when you have had some time to rest after the day's events. Shinji, I'm really proud of you. Agito Makashima, Zeus P.S. Open the box. It's a surprise." Shinji felt tears trying to form in his eyes. 'I'm really proud of you... Thank you, Uncle Agito. I'll make sure you'll continue to be proud of me!' Finally regaining control, he opened the box. Inside was another note and a small silver pin, that of a thunderbolt. The note read: "The second pin was given to Thunderbolt members who had downed their first Zoanoid. The Angels are essentially the same as Zoanoid, so I feel you've deserved this. Once again, I congratulate you, Shinji." Making sure to put the note away safely, Shinji picked the pin from the sponge base it was lying on and slowly attached it to the collar of the pyjama he was in. This time, he did not even try to stop the tears from flowing. "Thank you, Agito-sama... Thank you so much!" He whispered. By the door, Rei observed him with interest... End of part two. Addendum#1 The Observer scanned the area one more time, before plunging the card into the terminal. "Yes?" The man on the other end of the phone asked suspiciously. "What is it?" "I was told to ask you for any information regarding the death of Ikari Yui, doctor Ha..." "Don't speak my name! I don't want to risk the phone being bugged. For your own safety, I hope you are using a voice modifier..." "The best on the black market. Anyway, as I was saying, a common acquaintance suggested I should ask you..." "Yes, yes! Ehh..." He sighted irritably. "Very well. I've been with NERV... Or Gehirn, as they were once called, for a long time, until the accident in AD lab 5, so I've known Yui quite well. She was a rather radiant woman, actually..." "Doctor..." The Observer interrupted, irritated. "Yes, yes, I'm getting to it. As I was trying to say, Yui was a radiant woman. She was Commander Ikari's wife, but both of the Sub-Commanders seemed to be in love with her. Why they didn't act upon it... Although, I did hear that Fukamachi tried to court her for a long time, back in collage... Poor guy, both of the women he loved killed in such grisly ways..." "Doctor!" "Yes, yes. Anyway, I've been there, at the laboratory, when she tried to interface with Unit-01. Evangelion Unit-01 that is, she already hosted Guyver One. She actually brought her kid that night, the same who now pilots the very Unit-One now. All of the Commanders were there too, and that computer expert, dr. Naoko Akagi... Ikari's lover, by the AAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHHHH!" "Doctor?! Doctor?!" The Observer shouted into the phone. "Abracadabra..." A deadly, yet amused voice replied on the other end. The Observer simply took running, not even bothering to smash the receiver back in it's place or retrieve the datacard, while the cold, almost maniacal laughter, followed him. Addendum#2 "You have to promise to me noone ever learns I've told you this, eh?" The man whispered as he lecherously observed the shapely curves of the girl's mostly revealed body. "Me? Not even the dead will hear anything from me!" She replied, her melodious voice filled with honesty. "Of course, I would never doubt you." He smiled, drooling a little. "So please tell me! It sound so dangerous, and danger is just so exciting!" She said, while watching his well muscled frame with adoration. 'Well, it's only natural.' He thought. 'I'm a high level guard at NERV, they don't let wusses in there!' "But..." She smiled innocently. "You have to promise me you won't take advantage of me when I'm that excited!" "Of course, baby!" 'As if I was doing this for anything else.' He thought. "So, come on! Tell me!" "All right, all right. Well it's like this: officially, there are 13 sections in NERV, but, really there is a secret 14th one... They're really bad, you know! They're the special affairs section of NERV!" "Oohh! That sound so dangerous!" 'And you sound so aroused baby!' "Anyway, they take care of the really bad stuff. You know, assassinations, kidnapping, torture, that sort of things..." "Oh wow! Really? No wonder you didn't want to tell me! This is so cool! How can I repay you?" 'I can think of a few things...' He smiled lecherously. "Anyway, that's not all..." Despite his motives for the story, he was actually getting into it. "You know, these guys from that sections... The assassins... They're called "The Magicians"... And you know why?" She smiled. "Because they make people disappear?" His surprised reply was cut short as the very legs he was admiring so much, warped themselves around his neck and broke it in one quick move. Satsuki Yatouji sighed as she stood up from the bed and started to dress herself. 'Really, Seichiro is so irritating with these 'favours of his. This horny idiot really wasn't that much of a threat to internal security... Although we do need better rumour control.' She glanced at the dead body with disgust. 'Let them send someone else to dispose of it. I'm not even in Section 17! And I have a date with Yuuto in an hour anyway...' She giggled quietly as she noticed her reflection in the mirror. 'I wonder if he will like the 'little schoolgirl' setup...' Note: The "The Magicians"- because they make people disappear idea came out of Mick Farren's really cool book "Armaggedon Crazy". If you want to find out how a theocracy controlled US would look like, be sure to give it a try. Well, that's about all for now. Part 3 is in the works, although it might take some more time to patch up... For now, farewell... -- Mmm czesc to ja. Chcesz mnie ... rozebrac?
